Book Club for Parents
Gates’ Counseling Department invites parents and caregivers to a monthly Book Club Discussion. Each month the Counseling Department will choose a book focused on supporting the growth and wellbeing of our children. February’s pick is Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents: 7 Ways to Stop the Worry Cycle and Raise Courageous & Independent Children, by Reid Wilson and Lynn Lyons. This month’s book provides supportive strategies for parents and caregivers to help children manage their anxious feelings.
Please join Counseling Department members Amy Mahoney and Lindsay Newton for an informal book discussion on Tuesday February 25, 9:00-10:00 at Gates. You will have the opportunity to connect with other parents experiencing similar situations, and ask questions of Counseling staff who have read and implemented the strategies in this helpful book. The book can be found online for purchase, through your local library, or on audio book platforms.
Do you enjoy reading? Are you looking for ways to connect with your community and share thoughtful strategies to support our children? Please join our drop in Counseling Department Book Discussion! No registration necessary, but you can reach out to Amy Manhoney with any questions.
