Jenkins Update

Interactive Learning at Jenkins
“Geography Game Show” Assemblies
- Students were enthralled as interactive maps unfolded that explained the 13 original colonies to the lower 48 states.
- Thank you to the Jenkins PTO for bringing this unique geography experience to Grades 2-5, we appreciate your support of our learning!
First Graders decorated paper vests with 100 favorite items. Why do we celebrate the 100th day of school?
- 100 is a benchmark number in primary grades mathematics instruction.
- The 100th day of school is more than half-way through the 180 day school year and a day to celebrate learning progress.
- The 100th Day recognition was started in 1979 in Livermore, California, by teacher Lynn Tayloro to help children understand the concrete lesson of the number 100.
