DECA District Competition
On January 7th, 125 Scituate High School Business Students competed at the DECA District One Conference. For SHS, this year's conference had a record number of overall participants and advancing State Competition qualifiers!
Business students were assessed on their general business and marketing knowledge within their respective business category by completing a 100-question exam and two case study role-play scenarios. For the case studies, students were allotted 30-minutes to prepare a business/marketing plan that addressed a solution for the role-play criteria. Students presented their solutions to a judge(volunteer business professional), who assessed and ranked their efforts compared to students from other high schools. Additionally, students enrolled in our yearlong DECA/Marketing (Quincy College dual enrollment credit offered) presented 20+ page business plan initiative projects at the conference.
